The CCN whānau are thrilled for Kim Sinclair-Morris who has today been announced as the new Chief Executive for Pegasus Health. A media release from Pegasus can be read here. 

Kim says that she is delighted to take the opportunity to lead Pegasus Health, after 12 years with the CCN, and ten as Executive Director, moving on from this position and the CCN whānau is bittersweet.

“I am tremendously proud of what CCN has achieved over the last decade, and the contribution we’ve made to making things better for our community,” says Kim. 

“Some of the standouts for me are the rapid co-design and implementation of Mana Ake, the continuous enhancement of integrated respiratory services across our system and communities, the design and socialisation of Kia Kotahi Partnership in Design, and our collective efforts to achieve the highest and some of the most equitable COVID-19 vaccination rates in the country.” 

“I have learned a great deal about the importance of collective purpose that focuses on the needs of people and whānau first and foremost, the significance of distributed leadership and permissions to achieving change at scale, the value of diversity in solving problems and how critical trust is in achieving enduring integration across a system.”

CCN Leadership Team Independent Chair Dr Don Elder said the CCN Leadership Team is delighted that Kim’s skills, knowledge, and strong relationships will be put to good use leading the Pegasus Team through the system reforms. 

“CCN’s collective strength has always been our ability to build purposeful and genuine relationships by fostering a culture of impartiality, honesty, respect, courage, and openness to change and we’re reassured that our system will continue to benefit from this approach with Kim’s appointment to the Pegasus Health CEO role,” says Don. 

“I’d like to recognise Kim’s substantial contribution over the past decade through her steady and thoughtful leadership of CCN’s activity, to the Canterbury COVID-19 vaccination programme and for her role in shaping the health system reforms through the development of Te Pae Tata.” 

“I thank Kim on behalf of everyone involved with CCN and in the Canterbury region, for everything she has done, always driven by what is best for people, whānau and the system.’

“We recognise that this is a significant loss to the CCN whānau, however, are confident that while the Leadership Team takes time to decide next steps around the Executive Director role, CCN’s activity will be in the capable hands of Independent Advisor Jane Cartwright and Programme Manager Linda Wensley.”

Kim will start her new role with Pegasus on Monday 7 August 2023.
