CCN tīma celebrates Te Wiki o te Reo Māori

The Canterbury Clinical Network (CCN) tīma (team) had a magical Māori Language Moment for Te Wiki o te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week), with karakia (prayer) and waiata (song) and the sharing of pūrākau (myths and legends) and whakatauki (proverbs).

Senior Project Facilitator Koral Fitzgerald says our tīma enjoyed the opportunity to share, learn, kōrero, partake in waiata and enjoy a variety of whakatauki that had significance to the individuals and the work of our group.

"We also got to hear about two pūrākau that were significant to the presenters, who connect with the whenua (land) it spoke about," says Koral.

"We are committed to continuing our exciting journey, incorporating te reo Māori in all aspects of our mahi (work) across the Canterbury health system."

The Māori Language Moment was at midday on Tuesday 14 September with all of Aotearoa encouraged to stop and take a moment for te reo Māori.
