Academic Pharmacy Perspective sought

The Canterbury Clinical Network (CCN) is seeking a person to bring an Academic Pharmacy perspective to the Pharmacy Service Level Alliance.

The person sought will understand how tertiary education and research interacts with and contributes to improve the delivery of Pharmacy Services.

About the Pharmacy Service Level Alliance (PSLA)

The PSLA is supporting innovation in pharmacy services and enhancing the contribution of pharmacy to the patient's health care team. Established in 2010, the PSLA provides strategic direction, design, prioritisation and leadership for Community Pharmacies (with input from secondary/tertiary pharmacy services) across the Canterbury Health System.

Specifically, the PSLA promotes the contribution of the Pharmacist in a patient’s multi-disciplinary primary health care team and initiatives that free up pharmacist's time for value-added patient-focused care.

Currently the PSLA is delivering on a local response to the national Pharmacy Action Plan. This involves continuing the ongoing transformational work in Canterbury, supporting innovation, patient centered care and cultural competency. The focus of the PSLA is on patient health outcomes, and the pharmacist’s role in primary care integration.
