Seeking a Practice Nurse perspective for pharmacy work

The Canterbury Clinical Network is seeking a person to bring a Practice Nurse perspective to the Pharmacy Service Level Alliance.

The appointee will understand how practice nurses contribute to Service Level Alliance plans to support innovation in pharmacy services and enhance the contribution of pharmacists to the patient's health care team.

About the Pharmacy Service Level Alliance

The Pharmacy Service Level Alliance (PSLA) is supporting innovation in pharmacy services and enhancing the contribution of pharmacy to the patient's health care team. Established in 2010, the PSLA provides strategic direction, design, prioritisation and leadership for Community Pharmacies (with input from secondary/tertiary pharmacy services) across the Canterbury Health System.

Specifically, the PSLA promotes the contribution of the Pharmacist in a patient’s multi-disciplinary primary health care team and initiatives that free up pharmacist's time for value-added patient-focused care.

Currently the PSLA is delivering on a local response to the national Pharmacy Action Plan. This involves continuing the ongoing transformational work in Canterbury, supporting innovation, patient centered care and cultural competency. The focus of the PSLA is on patient health outcomes, and the pharmacist’s role in primary care integration.

The group's Terms of Reference are here.
