Dr Ramon Pink’s time with ALT acknowledged

Dr Ramon Pink was presented with a pounamu pendant at the Alliance Leadership Team’s (ALT) meeting on Monday 22 July 2019 to acknowledge and celebrate his contribution to ALT.

Ramon has decided to step down from ALT to focus on other areas. He has provided Māori and population health perspectives and made a significant contribution to the ALT since he became a member in 2015.

At the presentation Sir John Hansen, Chair of ALT, highlighted the clear and fair thinking that had characterised Ramon’s contributions to ALT discussions. He also acknowledged the leadership he had provided when ALT started the conversations and serious journey to achieving equity.

Ramon thanked ALT members for their support and acknowledged their passion, drive and trust, and Sir John’s leadership. He urged ALT to pursue the equity challenge with determination and resilience.

“We have some passionate and hard working people around the table, who go above and beyond.  I feel privileged to have worked with these people. They see challenges as opportunities,” says Ramon.

“CCN have set a high bar and, I believe, it is one of the most progressive and active alliances across the country. It’s important that CCN continues to evolve and responds to the sector.”

“Thanks to John and Kim and her team and the rest of my colleagues around the table. On a personal level I have grown and learnt so much.”

The Programme Office will work with Mana Whenua to recruit a replacement and Wendy Dallas-Katoa will be covering in the interim.

Before his last ALT meeting he shared some of his thoughts on alliancing and collaboration, which we will share with you shortly.
