New SLAs to keep Canterbury’s population healthy

Elly Edwards |02 Nov, 2017 | Archive |

Two new Service Level Alliances (SLA) which aim to align integration and population health activity across the Canterbury health system are being developed.

The Population Health and Access SLA and the Integration SLA will replace the existing Flexible Funding Pool SLA, the Population Health Workgroup and the Integrated Family Health Services Governance Group (IFHSGG).

In an email to members of the Population Health Workgroup, Laila Cooper, Chair of the former Population Health workgroup, thanked members for their contributions. She said: “It’s encouraging to see the support of the Canterbury Clinical Network for this strengthened priority and focus on Population Health and Access.

“Your efforts over these past three years have helped us reach the stage where this change in focus and structure is now possible. I am confident that the work you have undertaken will provide a strong foundation for the new Service Level Alliance.”

Several small working groups considered the components, purpose, mandate and membership for the new Population Health and Access SLA and a co-design workshop, held in September, considered opportunities for population health and improved access across the system.

With the membership now finalised (list below) the Population Health and Access SLA held its inaugural meeting Monday 11 December.
