The programme office has released its quarterly report which summarises activity against the 2018-19 work plans for January to March 2019. Highlights include:

  • 2,596 people at risk of falling attended accredited strength and balance classes to reduce their risk of falling and injuring themselves, and the number of classes in the community has increased including five covering East Christchurch which had previously been identified as a ‘gap area’;
  • The Ashburton SLA have endorsed shifting from the local after-hours 0800 number historically used by Ashburton general practice to the 'Call your GP 24/7' message, ensuring consistent after-hours messaging across Canterbury;

  • The Child & Youth Workstream have engaged providers (including Te Hā – Waitaha) with reach into priroity popualtions to assist in distributing safe sleeping devices to babies at risk of Sudden Unexplained Infant Death.
