Established in 2009 and aligning to the Canterbury Clinical Network in 2012, the Mental Health Workstream provides oversight of the strategic direction of the Canterbury mental health system with an aim to achieve a user-centred, whole of system approach to mental health and addiction services. Its clinical leadership role includes reviewing current service activities and proposing transformational service improvement.

Wellbeing Budget includes four-year Mental Health package

The Government announced a four year mental health package to extend services in primary care, "nurses in schools, telehealth and digital services, crisis response, parenting support, suicide prevention and postvention and alcohol and drug addiction. The package also extended support in the justice sector, employment and housing and the establishment of a Royal Commission into Historical Abuse in State Care/Faith Based Institutions. You can access the full Wellbeing Budget for mental health  here
