The Pharmacy Service Level Alliance (PSLA) is supporting innovation in pharmacy services and enhancing the contribution of pharmacy to the patient's health care team. Established in 2010, the PSLA provides strategic direction, design, prioritisation and leadership for Community Pharmacies (with input from secondary/tertiary pharmacy services) across the Canterbury Health System.

Specifically, the PSLA is supporting and promoting the contribution of the Pharmacist in a patient’s multi-disciplinary primary health care team and initiatives that free up pharmacist's time for better patient focused care.

Currently the PSLA is leading the development of a local response to the national Pharmacy Action Plan. This involves progressing the ongoing transformational work in Canterbury, investigating and recommending how pharmacy in Canterbury can better contribute to the objectives of the Canterbury Health System and the New Zealand Health Strategy.
