About the Canterbury Clinical Network 

The Canterbury Clinical Network (CCN) is a collective alliance of healthcare leaders, professionals and providers from across the Canterbury health system. We provide leadership to the transformation of the Canterbury health system in collaboration with system partners and on behalf of the people of Canterbury. 

The CCN programme team coordinates the activity of the alliance, providing day-to-day operational support to the various CCN groups.

Led by the Executive Director, the small team of employees is the hub around which the alliance operates. Functions of the Programme Team include programme coordination, project facilitation/management, resource management, administration, reporting and communications support.

The CCN is hosted by Pegasus Health, which is a collaborative association of General Practitioners, Practice Nurses and the wider practice teams, and seeks to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.

 

About Mana Ake 

Mana Ake – Stronger for Tomorrow is an initiative that promotes wellbeing and positive mental health for children in school years 1-8 by increasing collaboration between and across agencies and schools and providing additional workers to directly support children. This initiative is being co-designed and progressively implemented, with a final roll-out taking place at the end of April 2019.

 

About the role

The Communications and Documentation Coordinator is responsible for producing and coordinating the documentation that supports the CCN Programme Office and Mana Ake Project Team. This includes supporting the implementation of the CCN communications strategy and developing high-quality procedures and accountability documentation, producing documents that articulate the lessons learned across the alliance and coordinating the storage of this information. This position will also coordinate the CCN annual planning and reporting processes.

Key components of this role will include documenting and updating Mana Ake – Stronger for Tomorrow processes, communication material, lessons learned; supporting the CCN communication advisor to produce consistent and regular communications; and supporting the CCN programme manager to develop annual work plans and coordinate the quarterly reporting process.

Key activity

  • Support the development and implementation of the CCN communications strategy and consistent and regular communications across the CCN (including the website);
  • Develop, renew and enhance procedures and documentation across CCN and the Mana Ake initiative;
  • Work with Clinical Leads and Project Facilitators to communicate the Canterbury health system journey, with a particular focus on the patient’s experience and lessons learned;
  • Support the CCN groups to develop work plans and ensure alignment with the Canterbury DHB Annual Plan;  
  • Coordinate CCN groups quarterly reporting against the work plans and develop a summary report.

 

Skills, experience and key attributes

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to succinctly present complex issues to a range of audiences;
  • Effectively develops and manages relationships across teams and organisations and is a great team player;
  • Demonstrates strong project coordination and organisation skills;
  • Has an understanding of both primary and secondary health sectors.
